Zebrawood Wood Veneer Quartered has a beautiful straight grain. Zebrawood veneer is straw and dark brown in color.

Zebrawood is primarily found in Cameroon and West Africa. It is called Zebrano or Zebra Wood in many parts of the world and commonly known as zebra zingana, allene, ele and amouk.

Zebrano veneer, also called zebrawood veneer, originated from the Gabon, Cameroon and Congo of Africa., is a hardwood veneer mainly used for top quality furniture surface making and top grade interior decoration.

Zebrano veneer typically has a golden yellow or tan heartwood with dark brown to black contrasting stripes which gives it its zebra-like appearance.

Zebrano veneer has nice vertical grains with bold light tan to dark brown contrasting stripes. The contrasting grain can be tightly spaced or slightly wider but always an alternating light and dark contrast. Zebrawood is almost exclusively quarter cut only to produce the characteristic stripe.

It is found in West Africa - mainly in Gabon and Cameroon - and gregarious, sometimes found in pure stands along riverbanks.

Zebrano sapwood is up to 10cm wide and whitish in colour, while the heartwood is light golden-yellow or pale yellow-brown in colour, with narrow-veining or streaks of dark brown to almost black, giving a zebra-stripe appearance that varies considerably.

Zebrano veneer grain is usually interlocked or wavy, yielding a ribbon figure, the texture is typically medium to coarse, and the wood is lustrous.
